Professional Supervision

For me Professional Supervision is an exciting, expansive opportunity to work together to bring your full potential to the role in which you are employed.

MY APPROACH

What I bring is my genuine curiosity, creativity, lateral thinking and years of relating to people through education, coaching and arts therapy. I believe that using visuals to make associations can bring a deeper understanding of ourselves, and everyone can benefit from this.

QUALIFICATIONS

My Qualification in supervision includes a Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision, from the University of Divinity in 2022, with a view to further study in this area. I am trained in Cognitive Coaching and Re-Evaluation Counselling. My Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice was completed in 2019 at MIECAT, Melbourne.

CURRENT WORK

My current work through Creative Arts Therapy Australia gives me the opportunity to work reflectively with diverse people in the community. As an Academic Associate I have enjoyed bringing workshops to the students and staff at the University of Divinity, that explore the application of creativity in supervision.

Testimonials

Jo is kind of like my diving companion. She invites me to go places at the edges of my mind, and to gently explore their depths together. Jo asks insightful questions that never feel forced or rushed, and is encouraging without being gushy. Jo is a creative soul, who helps me to be creative too, and to follow my intuition and inner wisdom. Jo brings richness and clarity to my work.

As well as Jo, I see a work coach and a spiritual director, and I have noticed that Jo’s professional supervision brings its own uniqueness. She brings together the personal realm with the context in which I’m working, as well as broader systemic issues, and wants to know about God/source too. I always gain important insights after spending time with Jo, which come from some deep places.

I found the session freeing and life giving. Creating moments of pause to ponder and an artefact to return to at different times to further reflect on the now and then, the now and when of life. Although we are continually pushed towards what is system, context, etc., I find it always begins in the personal and source in whichever role I am in.

I really got a lot out of all the sessions and feel like the time spent has had an important and positive impact on my art practice and also my personal and professional development. All the creative modalities Jo used with me have been extremely useful in one way or another, bringing me new insights and perspectives, and in some cases contributing to some really important shifts and behavioural changes.
